Food
If for some reason you are making food that you want me to eat, you
might care about my preferences in food. If you're simply attending a
potluck with me or even inviting me over for dinner, you really don't
need to consider these; just make whatever you like. I have no food
allergies; all of the restrictions below are just me being a picky
eater, and that's my problem.
As a general rule, if you would expect a typical 10 year old american
to eat it with no fuss, I probably will too.
Won't eat (feel strongly)
- alcohol, caffine, other mind altering chemicals
- cucumbers -- except pickled
- primates
Won't eat (dislike)
- raw meat
- mushrooms, other fungus (except yeast)
- many vegetables: eggplant, brocolli, artichoke,
brussles sprouts, cauliflower, pumpkin, asparagus, beets, avocado,
sweet potato
Will eat happily
- starches (whole grains are fine): pasta, rice, bread, potatoes
- common cheeses (cheddar of any sharpness, provalone, gouda,
parmesan, romano, others. Doesn't include brie.)
- uncooked: peppers, carrots, celery, spinach, parsley
- vegetables: bamboo shoots, water chesnuts, ginger, radish,
turnip, horseradish, basil, rosemary, garlic, onion, leek,
peas, tomateos, cabbage, lettuce
- meat: cow, pig, bird, oily fish
- legumes (including tofu, soy sauce, peanuts)
- yoghurt
- fruit (except mango, passion fruit, pomegranite)
- milk: 2%+ (includes cream)
- eggs
- honey
- sugar, sucralose, asparatame, sacharine, corn syrup, high
fructose corn syrup, cheap fake maple syrup, real maple syrup
- butter, margarine
Will eat, especially as minor ingredients
- vegetables: rhubarb, brocolli
- cooked: peppers, carrots, celery
- meat: goat, deer, most other mammals, most fish
- milk: powdered, skim
